Using disk technology as the target for initial backups helps to facilitate rapid backup and restore operations, shrinks the required backup window and increases system availability.

Following the initial disk back up, a second copy of the backup data is made to a remote location. This copy can be done in the background, with zero impact on the application servers. This can be done as a managed service or as a product sale and implementation.
