Security in a hybrid cloud model is increased when organizations leverage both the security of a private cloud and the speed and services of a private cloud. Although public cloud providers go to great lengths to protect the data of their clients, a public cloud is inherently more open and vulnerable than a private cloud or internal networks. This makes organizations more susceptible to cyber and ransomware attacks and other forms of data leakage. Occasionally, a public cloud is just too risky for some companies. A hybrid cloud model makes more sense in these cases since data can be protected in a private cloud and a public cloud can be used for power and resources.
