What’s the difference between business-critical and mission-critical applications?

Business-critical and mission-critical are both terms that are used to describe the essential functions of an organization that must be completed without failure. Business-critical applications are those which a business is reliant upon to carry out normal business operations which keep the business running. Mission-critical applications become business-critical when they are necessary for the success of a business.
